Well, the number one reason we are here in South Africa, was for a family reunion on my Mom’s side – today was the day where we would get together with 3 complete generations. My Mom and her two sisters, six cousins (and spouses), and 10 of our kids. A total of 27 for another once in a lifetime gathering! We met at a stunning winery called Lourensford and had a wonderful lunch on their back patio. The venue was perfect as they had a huge lawn complete with sand pit, chalkboard, and garden for the kids to play in while we caught up. The kids all played together perfectly while we caught up with our cousins who we haven’t seen since 1994 and met their spouses for the first time.
After a fantastic afternoon we gathered at my Mom’s for a relaxing afternoon of swimming. A perfect day that came together without a hitch.
Wow, what a great couple of days! Talk about family reunions! Loved the large group pics. When you get back you need to put some names to all the faces - there are a few I'm not sure of.
ReplyDeleteDid granny Bento approve of the goods I sent with you - I hope you strongly encouraged her to use the meds.
Keep on enjoying the lovely weather and say hi to Neil and Tracy (and Wa too), and hugs and kisses to the girls and A merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all the family and people we know in SA.
Love, Dad
Dad, names with faces for you.

ReplyDeleteHey! Great photos so far, and great commentary Sandra. I love family reunions. Good to see my African-American friend is getting back to her Roots.
ReplyDeleteLove the all of the animals that Warren shot; amazing.
Weather is cold and and wet here in Martini-ville, so I am envious; would like to be in the Serengeti right now.
Best regards to your mother and brother,
