Maddie on the mend

Another day of fever and cough for Mads, but she's as feisty as ever. Fever broke this evening, so Mads is on the mend. Mads went to bed early and missed Christmas Eve dinner, but at least she’s feeling better and will be ready for Santa in the morning.

Mom and I worked all day getting the house and table set for Christmas Eve dinner. We had 12 adults and 5 kids for dinner. The food was delicious, company even better. So fun to celebrate with family that we have not celebrated with since we were Logan’s age. Logan asked to go to bed, she knows Santa will be coming in the morning!

  1. So, was Santa generous to the little ones?

We are in the process of a major snowstorm for the east coast - expecting up to eighteen inches of snow at the Shore - a big snowfall for us. We'll keep you posted, but the rest of the day is definitely a cosy, football Sunday!

  2. Well our winter storm turned out to be a doozy! We got about two feet of snow, but because of the high wind it has drifted into banks above my waist; of course the drifting is worst at the front of the house, so getting out the front door was almost impossible with a 4 foot high snowbank against the door. And on top of it all, the downstairs furnace is out - we've summoned the service people, but whether they can get here soon is unlikely, as the roads are still not plowed and access to our house is through the aformentioned 3-4 feet high snow banks!

    So enjoy your sunny SA!

  3. So sorry to read about Maddie! I hope she was feeling better for Christmas day! I'm sure all the presents and wrapping paper helped her mood at least :) Kate says "Merry Christmas" to you all! Hugs, Allison
